While visiting the United States during the summer months, Wayne and Natalie Sawatsky, owners and GrapeSEED teachers of Interlink School in Azerbaijan, were able to spend a few days in the Detroit area of Michigan!

One of the many highlights was spending a bit of time with fellow GrapeSEED teachers Aleece Tousignant and Courtney Frank from Clintondale Community Schools. Joined by GrapeSEED Trainers Jodie Shell and Julie Baxa, these phenomenal educators were able to share their unique GrapeSEED experiences with one another. It was a meaningful time for gaining cross-cultural insight and for professional collaboration, as well!

Wayne and Natalie also had a chance to visit Michele Tucker’s summer school program at Mars Elementary School in Berrien Springs.

“Seeing the confidence that the [GrapeSEED] program encourages in ELL students in America was wonderful to see,” Wayne commented.

Thank you for a great visit, Wayne and Natalie!
